….and the saga continues

Friday night we got an email saying “HOA Guy” was interested in making an offer.  We haven’t heard anything else from him.  Thumbs down “Late Low ballers” countered OUR counter with 2,000 less than our counter AND they want our fridge.  Annoyed We had 4 showings Saturday and have one tonight at 5:30.  I am over it ya’ll.  That’s all I got to say about that.

P90 is going much better this week.  Jeremy and I did Kenpo X (I kept calling it Kempo…until I saw the DVD Confused smile) on Saturday morning.  I loved it!  It was so much fun!!!  I can’t wait to do it again.  I don’t think Jer feels the same…Yesterday was my second chest and back workout and I did much better this time.  My chest is still tight, my gluteus maximus is still pretty sore but over all I am feeling much better.  This morning I decided to do Plyo first thing before I ate breakfast.  Saturday I did Kenpo first thing and felt so much lighter and had more energy.  So I thought I would try PLYO on an empty tummy.  “They” say that cardio on an empty tummy burns more fat too so….that’s a plus.  It was MUCH easier today.  I didn’t peter out in the end.  I was able to complete most of the exercises, got super sweaty and burned about 100 more calories this week!  Thumbs up

Didn't puke

My friend posted this on her Facebook today and I can’t stop laughing at it!

I am so in-love with this program.  Even though I am borrowing it right now, I am planning on buying one for myself.  I think it will be a great tool to use when I am training and counseling.  When your 11 year old says, “Mommy!  Look at your arms!”  “Let me see your abs…..MAN!”, you know the program is legit.

We were so busy this weekend & I wasn’t able to get all my food in but tried my best to stick to the plan.

Friday night I made some ground chicken with homemade taco seasoning.  I served it over 2 cups of spinach and 1 1/2 corn tortilla.

Saturday after Kenpo I made my protein shake, showered and then had to leave because of a showing, so I grabbed a protein bar.  This was DELICIOUS!!!!!  Love it.

Clif Builders Bar

I read that these are a good substitute for the P90X performance bars so I grabbed a couple to try.  Impressed!

Saturday afternoon I took L for a B&N/Ice Cream date.  We hung out looking at books & drinking coffee (don’t freak out…decaf/fat-free/white mocha for him) like hipsters for a few hours before heading to Braum’s for the best ice cream in the world.

He got Peanut Butter Ice Cream

I got Pineapple Almond fro-yo.  Probably the best thing ever……Winking smile

Aidan is my little workout buddy.  He hangs in there like a boss most of the time! Yesterday he was lifting this 15lb weight up over his head, making me super nervous!  He also did 40 “push-ups”.  More like 1-2-3-4-567891011123940!  Watch out Arnold!  I have a secret dream that he will be my actual workout/running buddy when he is grown up!

Today after PLYO I made my protein shake.

Later I had a snack of 1.5 oz. avocado, 1 cup cucumbers/carrots, 2 light cheese sticks and my daily vitamins.

I am sort of off on my eating schedule today since I didn’t eat breakfast but I am sure I will make up for it later!!!

I have to get going so I can get the house “show ready” *eyeroll*.  I should be thankful for lots of traffic, but look, I am not.  I just want the Lowballers to accept that we aren’t going accept anything less than what we countered with!

On the bright side….I had a game changing conversation with Aidan’s preschool teacher on Sunday.  It was definitely a God thing that we ran into each other and had some time to talk.  What we talked about is possibly why we haven’t accepted an offer yet.

Speaking of church….As I sat in the service a young lady and her little baby girl (~3 months?) sat a few aisles over and in front of me.  I kept looking at that sweet baby and thinking how beautiful it was to see a young woman holding her little baby.  My womb ached a little.  Then I went to volunteer in the nursery.  I held a crying baby for two hours and changed a poopie diaper….ache no more my friends, this kitchen is closed!!!!

Just a little proud

When you are a mom, there are moments in your life when you experience a level of pride for your child that can not be matched.  Today was one of those moments for me when Aidan graduated from Pre-K.

photo 3 (2)

Excuse me while I brag on my child for a few minutes…..with all the drama and trauma I have to deal with on a daily basis, not to mention physically growing him in my body and then giving birth to the child….I think I deserve this.  So if you don’t like mush and gush….please by all means…carry on.

First of all he won the award for Mr. Manners.  That my friends does not come naturally in a child, so yes…I was proud of my work.  How many times do I repeat myself? “I am raising gentlemen, not heathens!”  “Boys!  Act civilized!” “Say thank you!….AIDAN SAY THANK YOU!”  “Aidan, say hello….that man said hello to you.”  “Luke, sit right in your chair.”  “Boys, no potty talk at the table.” “Luke, we do not fart at the table.”  “Boys, potty talk is not cute or funny, ever”  “Ladies first!”  and on and on…..In a world where good manners seem to be a lost art….MY children will have manners.

Look at that precious baby.  They did a little show for us, singing songs and doing countless sign language along with the words.  They recited the alphabet in sign language as well as a few words beginning with each letter.  His teachers told me he was in front because he was one of the best.  I would have to agree.

After graduation we had the opportunity to let our children stay at school for the remainder of the day or take them with us. Ummmm, take my child with me on my only day of freedom?  I think not!  I had some shopping to do that required me to be able to hear myself think.  I tried to do it Sunday and then again yesterday but the little boy in the graduation picture was NOT havin it.

I went to several stores trying to find something nice for the boys’ teachers.  I intended to MAKE something super crafty and clever….but I lack that gene.  It’s ok, I have strengths in different areas!  Winking smile  I settled on Bath & Body Works.  The scents are Island Margarita and Caribbean Escape.  I am going to say something completely cheesy like “Enjoy your Island Margarita and your Caribbean Escape over the summer!!!”

I did a terrible job of eating today.  Thumbs down

Breakfast was my usual smoothie

After the graduation I had two cookies.  One chocolate chip and one sugar.  Then I got a tall Misto from Starbucks.  I got hungry while I was at TJ MAXX and these looked appetizing.

180 snacks in cranberry pomegranate

I ate the whole bag (I guess it was “lunch”) and  it kept me pretty satisfied for several hours.

I had to go to Target to get a few more things for the teachers and they had several delicious samples out to try!  Samples are my favorite.

When I got home I had a Clif Crunch Bar.

See what I mean?  Atrocious…We are having leftovers from last night for dinner.  Have I mentioned that casseroles are always so much better the next night?

Speaking of dinner.  I am in a bit of a cooking rut lately.  I think because we have been so busy lately with End of Year Activities,  I haven’t been able sit and look for hours for new recipes…..That will be a goal for this week and seeing as how I do the grocery shopping on Wednesdays…..I better get on that a.s.a.p.!

I am so looking forward to summer.  I may eat my words in a few weeks when I have both boys with me all daaaaaay long.  But I am looking forward to the more relaxed schedule, staying up later, sleeping in.  There just seems to be more time for fun in the summer.

summer

I am SO thankful that today is our Friday!!!  Happy Dance!!!  I will have some back-up!

one last thing….I am INCREDIBLY sore from Bob’s workout yesterday.  Like hurts to sit, hurts to stand, hurts to walk sore…..I will have to do some serious stretching if I want a workout to happen tomorrow!

one more last thing…..I am taking the White Kidney Bean Extract now and so far, none of the  unpleasant side effects!!!  WHOO HOO!!!

I am Zen

How many of you can identify with this?  I know I can.

Sometimes life gets a little crazy and sometimes you just need to unplug and decompress.  I think it is essential, especially for mothers and wives, to do this.  We spend so much time   …..most  of our time…..ok pretty much every waking moment taking care of everyone else, we forget we need to be taken care of too.  Our spirits need to be filled, our bodies need rest and relaxation, and our minds need to be turned off.

So for two days I did just that.  It was LOVELY & I feel 1000% better.

I worked-out Wednesday morning on the treadmill and then did some abs and stretching.

I finally started Catching Fire Wednesday afternoon.

I ironed.  This is relaxing for me…I never have time make time for ironing and it stresses me out.  I have many summer clothes that I can’t wear unless I iron them…so I am stuck with wash and wear stuff over and over.  It makes me sad when I go into my closet and see so much potential for cute outfits but I can’t wear any of it because I lack ironing discipline. So I ironed for two hours on Wednesday night and watched about 5 DVR’d  Joyce Meyer shows.  I record these but never get to actually sit and watch them.

It was heavenly Winking smile

I also listened to about 5 or 6 of her podcasts while getting ready for my date with Prince Charming on Thursday.

I got pretty for my Prince.

  • Shirt: Polo (It’s a youth size that I found at a children’s consignment shop when I was selling Aidan’s clothes to them)  I love it.  I rarely wear it though. Why?  Ironing.
  • Cami: Old Navy
  • Jeans: American Eagle
  • Shoes: TOMS
  • Accessories: Watch- Fossil, Bracelets- Coach and a gift from a friend.

We both thought this was funny.

We had our Starbucks and then walked around the mall.  He wanted to take me ice skating because I keep saying like every week…..I want to go ice skating!  But wouldn’t you know, this would be the week I wouldn’t feel up to it!

So instead we had a long….looooooooong heart to heart and ate copious amounts of chocolate.

On a Dessert for Lunch Date at Carino’s!  I think I have started a new trend.

He also got the best thing ever for this picky girl who can’t seem to find a new perfume.

Sephora Fragrance Sampler for Her.

This is brilliant.  You buy the box of 10 of their favorite fragrance samples.  Wear them, test them out, decide which one you like & return the gift voucher in the box for a full size bottle.  When we got home I had all 3 boys sitting on the bed with me smelling perfumes and getting their opinion.  It was adorable.  Today I am wearing the one we all liked the best, Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola.  It smells really lovely at first, but then the scent fades quickly.  Perfect example of why it’s good try it out first.

We picked up little A from school and went to get Jeremy’s hair cut and more sweets.  Copious I said.

Later that afternoon I got the grocery shopping done.

Truth

By Thursday night I was Zen.

******************************

I slept like a rock last night, probably because I had another case of insomnia Wednesday night.  I found myself asleep sitting up in bed after trying to read just one chapter of Catching Fire.

Breakfast

My new favorite.

photo 2 (4)

.Chobani 2% Greek Yogurt, 1/2 an Orowheat Sandwich Thin, 1 tbsp. Sunbutter, 1/2 small banana and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Workout

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 20 on the elliptical.  It felt really good and I got super sweaty.  I downloaded some new music from Itunes and I am pretty sure that had everything to do with it.  Music is essential for cardio.  It’s a non-negotiable for me.  These people who work out with no music are bionic or something.

  • Titanium (feat. Sia) – David Guetta & Sia
  • Give Your Heart a Break – Demi Lovato
  • Back in Time – Pitbull
  • Wild Ones (feat. Sia) – Flo Rida
  • Boyfriend – Justin Bieber (don’t judge me)
  • Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen

I am looking FORWARD to my sweat session tomorrow!

Lunch

photo 3 (4)

  • 4 cups fresh spinach
  • 7 chopped baby carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup chopped red and green bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup peanuts
  • 2 tbsp. light balsamic vinaigrette.

Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

Dinner

photo(20)

A Granny Smith Apple the size of my face and a Cara Cara orange.

A little later, I had a serving of Blue Diamond natural almonds and the other half of the small banana from this morning.

I wasn’t hungry really at dinner time and now it’s after 9pm and wouldn’t you know my tummy us rumbling!  I am about to have 1/2 a Sandwich Thin with some PB.

I have not nor do I plan on reading the naughty little novel that is taking the women of this country by storm, but I thought this was hilarious!

Questions

  • What do YOU do to unplug and decompress?
  • Have you read Shades of Grey?  What did you think about it?

OF NOTE:  My Raspberry Ketone has been ordered and is on its way!
