Leftover Weekend

Well that weekend flew by as usual.  Prince Charming was off this Saturday so that made it go by even quicker.  We never made it to bootcamp Saturday morning.  We stayed up until past midnight Friday so an 8am class was not happening.  In fact we didn’t workout at all, instead we slept in until 8:30, it was so wonderful.

Saturday

Breakfast was just a banana and then for lunch I had some leftover pizza from Friday night.

I wanted needed to go to the mall to look at some new frames for my glasses (why do I have to be so picky?) but still haven’t found any I really like.  I also had a coupon for Bath & Body Works.  They were having their buy 3 get 3 free so I wanted to take advantage of that amazing sale!  I ended up with Aruba Coconut….OH EM GEE WOW, Secret Wonderland and Malibu Heat.  It was really hard to pick those because everything smelled so good!  I also got some Wallflowers in Twilight Woods that were 2 for $6.  HOLLA!  I am set for the summer and then some!

For some reason I was feeling fat on Saturday.  Yes, it still happens.  Hitting your goal weight isn’t some magical place where everything is now perfect.  But this was the perfect dress that day.  I love these types of dresses in the summer because they keep me super cool and they don’t stick to anything inappropriately.  Except you do have to remember to watch your legs getting in the car that has leather seats….OUCH!

Dress: Fossil

Shoes: Target

Cuff: Church gift shop

Bangle:  ??? Charming Charlie??? American Eagle? I had been missing it for about 6 months because I left it at Cheryl’s house but she returned it to me last weekend!  It was like I had a new piece!!

Of course we had to get our obligatory cookie.

Chewy Double Chocolate Pecan something err other….All I know is it was heaven in my mouth.  No….a party in heaven in my mouth.

Aidan with his usual M&M cookie.

We didn’t spent too long shopping because I needed to get back home and start a yummy dinner!

Aidan and I split the Taste of Home Garden Turkey Burger on a Nature’s Own Whole Wheat Bun & 2 Shape Magazine  Zucchini Cakes

The burger was freaking awesome!  I used lean ground turkey but it was so moist I could have used the extra lean which is what I prefer.

The Zucchini cakes were not very good.  But, I think with a few tweaks they would be amazing as well.  They were incredibly salty.  That may have been partly my fault because  A) I am not sure I used a large enough zucchini and B) I am not sure the Adobo spices I had were what the recipe meant.

The next time I make these I will be sure to use a bigger zucchini or two smaller ones, and only 1/2 tablespoon of Adobo spices.

Here are the links to those recipes:

For dessert I made this:

Better Homes and Garden Peach Berry Cobbler

Jeremy had two helpings of this Saturday night and then had more when he got home from work last night…..I on the other hand didn’t like it at all.  It is a good recipe, the biscuit topping was so good, but it was WAY overboard on raspberries. It was incredibly tart. I will make this again just either use half the raspberries or leave them out completely.  This would be superb over some vanilla ice cream but that would defeat the low calorieness of it.  So my advice would be to reduce the amount of raspberries unless you are a huge fan of them and then leave it as is.

Sunday

Sunday was our long morning at church so the rest of the day was spent doing pretty much nothing.

photo 1 (3)

For breakfast I had another banana and also a Zone Perfect Perfectly Simple Bar in peanut crunch.  Yummy as usual!

Lunch was more leftover pizza!  It’s so good despite the less than stellar crust!

And for dinner???? Yep!  Aidan and I split a burger!  I do love me some leftovers!  I love to cook but it’s nice to have leftovers! That recipe makes 6 burgers so we still have two that I put in the freezer for a week when I am just not up to cooking!

That brings us to today!

Breakfast

1/2 an Orowheat Sandwich Thin with 1 tbsp. Justin’s Hazelnut Butter and a sprinkle of chia seed, Dannon Traditional Strawberry Greek yogurt.

Then it was time for my spin class!  Excellent again!

Lunch was…….drumroll

LEFTOVER PIZZA!

It takes a while to eat an entire pizza by yourself! There are only two pieces left so it should be gone by tomorrow!

I do have a lasagna and some pesto muffins on the menu for tonight so things should be a little more interesting around here tomorrow!

Well, I have had to set the timer for 4 timeouts…scratch that, make it  5…. so far today so I better get these boys occupied with something to do beside fighting!  I think a trip to the library is in store and maybe my beloved happy place……Target!

Snacks yesterday: Quaker Granola Bar, cantaloupe & watermelon.

I wasn’t super hungry for dinner last night so I had some of the fresh protein bread I had just made.  Can’t say no to that!  Oh……and let’s not forget a few of these.

Cookie dough truffles.

Thank goodness they’re almost gone.

Basically I have been living off fruit and bread with bits of protein here and there!   I am eating what I am wanting….no need to eat what you don’t want just to get to the stuff you really want.  Winking smile But I think because we have been really busy this week I am just grabbing what is convenient.  I don’t have to give any thought or put prep into it.  I mean at least it’s not chips and cookies, or fast food, but I can do much better than this. A Food Rut is what I call it!  I am going to REALLY make an effort this week to plan some meals.  I haven’t been able to spend the time I like to gather recipes and make out a grocery list.  I have been having to go grocery shopping on the fly and just wing it with a haphazardly made list of items we are out of.  As I was grocery shopping yesterday I started to get hungry.  I saw pasta and sauce and thought….”Ohhhh I want some spaghetti.”  I saw some hamburger buns and thought “Man, I want a burger.”  I saw a Boboli Whole Wheat Pizza Crust and thought, “Dang….I need that….I want some pizza!”  Then I thought ok, next week….I am making all of that!

What I am Loving Lately

Spin.

I have done it 3 days this week and I am loving it!  It’s so challenging and fun.  I have been wearing my heart rate monitor to make sure I am not over doing since the first time I tried the class I felt like I was going to pass out.  I have been burning about 500 calories in the 60 min class and about 350 in the 45 min class.  There have been several times I have had to really pull back because it was too hard.  I love that because it means I have room to improve and something to work on!  It feels great to be out of that exercise rut.  Now, if I can just get out of the food rut!

Cetaphil Cleanser

I know this has been around for ages, but it’s new to me.  I LOVE IT!  I have oily and sensitive skin. This seems to have made my skin less oily, softer, evened out my skin tone, improved the texture and cleared up a recent break out over night. Jeremy’s skin is the same as mine and he will use whatever I use to wash his face.  I have noticed an improvement in his skin as well.

Plants that I can’t kill.

This is a Wandering Jew that has taken over a spot in my back yard.  I am going to propagate this and plant it in a pot out front.

Bath & Body Works Lavender Salve

I just love it.

Well, I am off to spend 4.5 hours on Pinterest gathering recipes…..wish me luck!!!

Articles I have loved this week:

Controlling Post workout hunger – Greatist.  I know if I don’t eat enough breakfast I fall victim to this.

Mouse is Jillian’s partner?!  It’s like a twist at the end of the book!  I am SO excited for them!  It’s no secret she is a huge role model for me and I attribute about 95% of my weight loss to her no nonsense approach to fitness and nutrition.  I look forward to hearing about her adventures in Mommyhood!

I hope everyone has a beautiful and safe Memorial Day Weekend!
