….and the saga continues

Friday night we got an email saying “HOA Guy” was interested in making an offer.  We haven’t heard anything else from him.  Thumbs down “Late Low ballers” countered OUR counter with 2,000 less than our counter AND they want our fridge.  Annoyed We had 4 showings Saturday and have one tonight at 5:30.  I am over it ya’ll.  That’s all I got to say about that.

P90 is going much better this week.  Jeremy and I did Kenpo X (I kept calling it Kempo…until I saw the DVD Confused smile) on Saturday morning.  I loved it!  It was so much fun!!!  I can’t wait to do it again.  I don’t think Jer feels the same…Yesterday was my second chest and back workout and I did much better this time.  My chest is still tight, my gluteus maximus is still pretty sore but over all I am feeling much better.  This morning I decided to do Plyo first thing before I ate breakfast.  Saturday I did Kenpo first thing and felt so much lighter and had more energy.  So I thought I would try PLYO on an empty tummy.  “They” say that cardio on an empty tummy burns more fat too so….that’s a plus.  It was MUCH easier today.  I didn’t peter out in the end.  I was able to complete most of the exercises, got super sweaty and burned about 100 more calories this week!  Thumbs up

Didn't puke

My friend posted this on her Facebook today and I can’t stop laughing at it!

I am so in-love with this program.  Even though I am borrowing it right now, I am planning on buying one for myself.  I think it will be a great tool to use when I am training and counseling.  When your 11 year old says, “Mommy!  Look at your arms!”  “Let me see your abs…..MAN!”, you know the program is legit.

We were so busy this weekend & I wasn’t able to get all my food in but tried my best to stick to the plan.

Friday night I made some ground chicken with homemade taco seasoning.  I served it over 2 cups of spinach and 1 1/2 corn tortilla.

Saturday after Kenpo I made my protein shake, showered and then had to leave because of a showing, so I grabbed a protein bar.  This was DELICIOUS!!!!!  Love it.

Clif Builders Bar

I read that these are a good substitute for the P90X performance bars so I grabbed a couple to try.  Impressed!

Saturday afternoon I took L for a B&N/Ice Cream date.  We hung out looking at books & drinking coffee (don’t freak out…decaf/fat-free/white mocha for him) like hipsters for a few hours before heading to Braum’s for the best ice cream in the world.

He got Peanut Butter Ice Cream

I got Pineapple Almond fro-yo.  Probably the best thing ever……Winking smile

Aidan is my little workout buddy.  He hangs in there like a boss most of the time! Yesterday he was lifting this 15lb weight up over his head, making me super nervous!  He also did 40 “push-ups”.  More like 1-2-3-4-567891011123940!  Watch out Arnold!  I have a secret dream that he will be my actual workout/running buddy when he is grown up!

Today after PLYO I made my protein shake.

Later I had a snack of 1.5 oz. avocado, 1 cup cucumbers/carrots, 2 light cheese sticks and my daily vitamins.

I am sort of off on my eating schedule today since I didn’t eat breakfast but I am sure I will make up for it later!!!

I have to get going so I can get the house “show ready” *eyeroll*.  I should be thankful for lots of traffic, but look, I am not.  I just want the Lowballers to accept that we aren’t going accept anything less than what we countered with!

On the bright side….I had a game changing conversation with Aidan’s preschool teacher on Sunday.  It was definitely a God thing that we ran into each other and had some time to talk.  What we talked about is possibly why we haven’t accepted an offer yet.

Speaking of church….As I sat in the service a young lady and her little baby girl (~3 months?) sat a few aisles over and in front of me.  I kept looking at that sweet baby and thinking how beautiful it was to see a young woman holding her little baby.  My womb ached a little.  Then I went to volunteer in the nursery.  I held a crying baby for two hours and changed a poopie diaper….ache no more my friends, this kitchen is closed!!!!

Ho hum……

Since Aidan has started school, Mondays and Tuesdays are my own personal “weekend”.  I have the house all to myself and will get some really good cleaning done, workout, do some food prep, go to B&N or the library….they are just you know…..Ho Hum kind of days & lovely.

Today started at about 1am when I woke up and was wide awake until sometime after 3am.  My alarm went off at 5am and I decided to sleep until 6am.  I had my coffee, ate a really good breakfast.  I took pictures of all my food today but for whatever reason my phone doesn’t want to send them!!!  Blergh!  Hopefully I will be able to insert them later.

2 hard-boiled eggs, a piece of whole wheat toast with a bit of fat free cream cheese and strawberry preserves, and a tangerine.  Super Yummy!!

A few hours later I had an apple and some almonds.

I got the house cleaned up and then made some granola….

——>insert granola picture<——

I also baked some sweet potatoes.

——>insert baked potatoes<——

I  had a handful of fresh granola (victory!) and a handful of almonds.

I had every intention of working out but it never happened.  We got a showing request for 2pm-3pm and I spent the rest of the time making sure the house was immaculate.

At about 12:30 I went to the library to see if they had a few books I am wanting to read and was going to return home about 1:45 so I could wait down the street for the buyers to see the house and then I could go back in.  Most of the time they come at the beginning of the appointment time and are only there for 10-15 minutes.  I picked up a new book at the library, “Paleoista”,

—–>insert picture of book<——

and returned to set up shop down the street for few minutes….An hour later, they never showed and I was stuck outside in my car for an hour…..

I had planned on working out after the buyers left and before I had to go pick up Aidan from school.  But since I was stuck out there for an hour, that didn’t happen.  Maybe I can get a workout in later this evening.

This isn’t the first time that happened.  In fact it happened yesterday.  At about 1:30 on Sunday I received a showing request for 4-5pm.  So I drove myself down the street at about 3:30, because they have been known to show up 30 min early, and I waited and waited and waited until 4:50 when I decided they weren’t going to show up and I went back home.

Needless to say I am a little annoyed.  But I won’t lose heart or let it bother me because I believe our time is coming!  Our patience is just being tested beyond belief obviously.  Remember I wrote about how we almost had a buyer?  They asked for a seller’s disclosure and came for a second showing only to decide last minute that they wanted to move further west.  Our realtor called us on Saturday and said that their realtor called him and said that moving to that area didn’t work out and asked if our house was still available.  So……that’s kind of exciting.  But I’m not holding my breath on that one or expecting to hear anything else anytime soon.  Since it’s been about a month since they came for the second showing, there have been more houses put on the market and I am sure they will want to check those out first.

I had a yummy snack when I got home from picking Aidan up.

A green bell pepper with 2 tbsp. fat free cream cheese, a cheese stick and some peanuts.

——>insert snack picture<——-

I have to figure out what I am going to feed my kids.  Since my day was interrupted I didn’t get everything done today that I needed.  I hope they will be happy with grilled cheese!!!!

Spontaneous MDO

Last night, after 2 days of constantly breaking up fight after fight between two boys who all of the sudden can’t seem to get along…..I told Jeremy that I was cancelling our plans to sleep in and workout with Bob.  Instead I was getting up super early, going for a nice long run, getting pretty and then I would be leaving for the rest of the day……He is such an amazing man…his response “I know, babe, I know its been rough.”

So that was exactly what I did.  I got up this morning bright, well, actually, it was still dark.  I got up dark and early Winking smile, had my coffee, quiet time, and a banana to fuel up for an nice long therapeutic run.

photo 1

I didn’t actually run for an hour and a half….this included cool down time and some stretching.

It was a great run though.  I incorporated intervals and felt so amazing afterwards.  I miss running outside.  I am going to have to start getting up before the sun just so I can get some in over the summer.  So worth it.

photo 2

After I cooled down I ate a Gala Apple the size of a baseball.  I was going to make a smoothie but was full after this.

So then I got my messy self presentable for my second therapy session.

Coach rocks my world.  I still carry my first Coach bag.  It was a Christmas present from Jeremy about 6 or 7 years ago.  In fact, I was carrying it today.  I commented that it still looks brand new after all these years &  I carried it for two years straight every single day.

After my visit to the best store in the world I parked myself in Barnes & Noble with my  Grande Non-Fat Misto to try and find a new cookbook.

photo 1 (2)

I think I may have found the most perfect cookbook.

My criteria:

  • Simple ingredients I can find at my regular grocery store
  • Short list of ingredients
  • Nutrition Values
  • Serving Size
  • Healthy, Nutritious, Low Calorie Recipes.
  • Less than $20

I was SO excited to find this one.

I’ll never be in another food rut again!  No more searching hours for new recipes!

When I got home I was ready for a snack because I knew what was for dinner!  Otherwise I would have eaten right then….at 4pm…..4 servings of lasagna and 4 pesto muffins.

Skinnytaste Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Scones.

I went ahead and made these last night instead of this morning because I was not too sure how they would turn out after mixing up the dough.  Scones are usually a very thick dough that you can knead.  This batter was very cake-like.  Gina’s recipes are always spot on so I didn’t question it.  While these “scones” are very good, they aren’t a scone.  They are more like bread.  The batter would be best used for muffins, and the serving size is VERY small for the amount of calories it holds.  If you used the batter for muffins, it would make 12.  So a muffin for 200 calories is quite a lot.  That didn’t stop me from eating about 3 of them straight out of the oven! What? She said serve warm!

For dinner we went to one of our favorite favorites places.

June Menu

The June Menu is the best of the entire year in my opinion.  Makes me hungry again just looking at it!  I might have to go again on Sunday before they change the menu…..

The strawberry salad and cobbler were magnificent.  This is the kind of place that leaves you wanting more.  I SO wish I could have taken my leftovers home.  Sadly, I had to leave them.  I am going to make us a completely unhealthified cobbler sometime soon!

Questions

Do you have a favorite cookbook or are you searching for one?

Do you have a bag/purse/pair of shoes/necklace that is one you will never part with?  One of sentimental value?

Date Day!

Yesterday afternoon I made two batches of Cinnamon Swirl Protein Bread & then proceeded to have two pieces at 4pm & two more at 6pm right before I left to go grocery shopping (instead of church, I am terrible.)

Then at 8pm I ate “my dinner” on the way back from the grocery store.

Dress: TJ Maxx (Be Bop, last year)

Accessories: Charming Charlie

Shoes: Target (this season)

I must say that I think Spring and Summer are a much prettier season for dressing!  In the winter, the only thing I am concerned about is how many layers I am going to need.

First, we stopped by Ulta to sniff out some new perfumes, get some special lotion for Luke’s skin issues and pick up my free gift for spending too much money being such a loyal customer.

Then we “stopped in real quick” at Old Navy and I ended up buying a dress, a pair of shorts and two tops.  Oooopsie!  In all seriousness, I DO need new clothes, on the REAL.  I am honestly still catching up from having to get rid of pretty much every last item of clothing I used to own.  Even the ones I got mid-weight loss are now too big.  I can’t ‘”make them work” anymore.  Good problem to have I suppose. Winking smile

Our last stops were Barnes & Noble for book # 2 in a series Luke is reading and Jason’s Deli for Lunch.

This REALLY hit the spot!

My salad had baby greens, peas, broccoli, cucumbers, baby carrots, trail mix, 1 crouton Winking smile, granola, a spicy nut mix and fat free honey mustard.  Good gracious I love me some kitchen sink salads!  On the side was some sort of rice dish that I didn’t care for.  Hummus, crackers, a ginger bread muffin and a cornbread muffin.  I ate all of the salad plate, the crackers with some of the hummus, & a bite of each muffin.  I also had a scoop of banana and chocolate pudding from the salad bar.  The best part of the meal was the frozen yogurt cone they offer at the end of the meal.  Deeeeelish!

In my own personal Heaven! I want to go back right now for dinner!

Speaking of, I need to get that started!
